06/04/2008
LEXINGTON, KY – The World Games 2010 Foundation today announced that Mr. Matt Reiter has been selected as Marketing Coordinator for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
A native of Sandusky, Ohio, Mr. Reiter is a recent graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing. Mr. Reiter has held internships at the World Games 2010 Foundation in marketing and sales, at the University of Kentucky Athletics in media relations, at the Cincinnati Reds in marketing research, and at Citigroup in financial planning.
"I am very honored to be part of the team preparing for this international event," said Mr. Reiter. "It is an incredible opportunity and responsibility to assist in promoting and planning for a world championship event of this magnitude."
"Matt's work experience as an intern in a variety of sports and business environments will serve him well as a marketing coordinator for the 2010 Games," said Terry Johnson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the World Games 2010 Foundation. "We are very pleased to have him join our team."
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park September 25-October 10, 2010, are the world championships of the eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), and are held every four years. The Games have never before been held outside of Europe; nor have all eight disciplines ever previously been held together at a single site–both firsts that will be achieved at the Kentucky Horse Park. The Games will be broadcast on NBC Sports, which has made the largest network commitment to coverage of equestrian sport in U.S. television history. The 2010 Games are expected to have a statewide economic impact of $150 million, and current sponsors include the Rolex Company and an unprecedented $10 million title sponsor, Alltech. It is anticipated that more than 600,000 tickets will be sold for the 16-day competition.
